All the while I was slapping my cruise control! I learned real quick that the misplaced DeLorean switch was teaching me bad habits. It reminded me of a police training course I was in years ago. While under stress, you behave as you have practiced. The example the instructor gave was of an officer who died in a shoot out with his hand in his pocket full of empty brass shells. In order to keep the gun range floor clean, he always put the spent shells in his pocket. But that last time if he just dumped the shells on the floor and speed-loaded his revolver, he may not have been found dead on the floor with his hand in his pocket. Well, maybe I'm off on a tangent, but my point is clear. The placement of the DeLorean horn switch makes for a dangerous habit. Before I heard of Bob Zilla's project, I was (and still am unless Bob makes his available) considering ways to at least temporarily hang a coiled cord from the wheel's center pad. It would look like crap, but would be much safer to drive. I don't like the idea of using a battery and RF to activate the horn, but if that's what it takes then I'm ready for it. So far the idea I like best is drilling a small hole down the center of the steering shaft to run a wire pair. Further down the column the hole would make a turn and stick out the side where it would attach to some brass rings & brushes. Hey Bob, you want me to test your prototype?
