Being on the column may cause bad habits, but it is kinda funny at times. I was telling a story about driving in the D, "when someone came flying in front of me, and I slammed on the horn!" (Some people laugh at this point, but its from the visual, which you lack.... For those of you who use their hands when they tell stories, the action of laying on the horn is usually a palm in front of you pushing out.... though for my story, involves my index finger gently moving from left to right!)
