AD DISCLAIMER My anus only applies if cursing flames flood my inbox. It's relieving to see you are not the thug portrayed in emails to ccc putsch. I guess I just don't understand in setting them straight, why can't you try and help them understand that their claims are wild instead of cursing at them, basically saying "your an idiot" and ripping their website apart because it doesn't look professional. In all my geekyness I get offended when people insist on using PC's for graphic & video editing or a Mac for data processing, but I don't rip them a new one when they use the wrong tool for the job. It's mostly just ignorance. If they ignore efforts to help them, I guess ignorance is bliss. People are more likely to do change their wrong ways when by using a kind instruction than with a butt whoop'n. All thought a good whoop'n has it's time and place (normally after the initial instruction is being blown off). "Do not make wild claims in the hope that someone will believe you and support your effort." Agreed, but is your statement just a 'claim' of his intentions? I think he believes that he can do this and is not seeking others support. I guess my whole point is . . . what I said in the first paragraph above . . . Why can't you try and help him instead of rip him? If the kid is as arrogant as you claim it's a Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde thing because I have never met the Doc in all the time I've known him. I can see why he would be turned off from listening to you now though. Sorry, I was referring to Walt's ability to not make fun of you and not the lack of constructiveness. Thanks for thinking of us! Shannon yes Deconstruction is Destructive. ----------------------------------- From: Jim Strickland <ihaveanaccount@xxxx> Date: Wed Oct 9, 2002 11:52 am Subject: Re: [DMCForum] Constructive/Deconstructive-- Exuberance/Naivety ADVERTISEMENT HEY! what about your anus!? It's not a matter of public belittlement. It is a matter of someone else's arrogance getting so inflamed that it needs to be set straight. I feel personally offended when people make wild claims that have no chance of being successful. You know why? Because it belittles the time, work, and money that I've put into my car. It's also insulting to anyone that spends money on any engine modifications, and every engineer that works in the automotive field that can not even do in a lifetime what this person can do in his garage. Claiming that you can get 400 hp out of any engine is a reasonable feat. Claiming to get it out of a 20 year old motor in a month's work for $2000 is scathing. Here's some constructive criticism to everyone: Do not make wild claims in the hope that someone will believe you and support your effort. If your effort is ridiculous, I might be the first to tell you so. I am no stranger to ridiculous efforts, hell, look at my car! FYI, whalt was not very constructive with my radio transmission idea, but he's probably right. It's not a very good idea because of reliability and electromagnetic interference it may create. I still maintain that it is the best idea if you want to change as little as possible on your car... plus it would be totally reversible. I get enough flack over my irreversible modifications, I was just thinking of the rest of you, so blah! Here's a bold move- If the 'modification' comes out and is what it claims to be, I will make a public apology and personally buy you one. Jim ps Deconstructive? isn't it destructive? ah, nevermind. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
