Yeah, but first shine a flashlight into the vents to see what is going on.
(Sorry if this sounds insulting. :-) Make sure the center vents are open.
There are little user friendly thumb wheel gears to open/close each vent.
Also make sure that the duct is going to these vents is not crushed or out
of place blocking the passage. There are two flaps that can block the
center vents. One is up close & parallel with a layer of yellow foam. It
is hinged at the top of the vents and flips down. Then there is another
flap deeper inside and to the right. Either one could have a bad actuator
or kinked hose.

Typically what goes wrong in a mode switch is that they dry out and get
stiff. There is a little black rubber disk that channels the airways.
One
side has a labyrinth/maze for the air passage ways; the other side has a
few
tits to hold it in place. What often happens is that the maze side gets
too
much friction and causes the tits to sheer off. You can replace just the
rubber piece. Or if you are feeling cheap you might be able to contact
cement the old one in place. Whatever you do, put a light smear of
silicone
o-ring lubricant on the maze before you put it back together. This is an
item that should be re-greased every 5 years or so.
