> Has anyone had any luck actually crossing the radiator? Yep, off hand I'm aware of two cross-references for it: PJ Grady & DMC/Texas. :-) You might ought to take your radiator to a trusted shop and get their opinion on it. People have had the plastic tanks replaced with brass that is soldered on. A good shop can make new tanks from scratch as well as make a whole new radiator. In theory, the steel crimps that hold the plastic tanks on can be straightened and reused on replacement plastic tanks but this isn't relaible on older radiators. As for replacement radiators, there are differences in opinion on whether aluminum or brass is better. Aluminum is more efficient at transferring heat and holds up as well as brass if you take care of it (i.e., change the fluid periodically.) The brass ones are generally made with more/wider cores to compensate for their reduced efficiency, and then they call this "heavy duty". If you have your old radiator repaired, don't let the shop paint the core. To stop them from doing this, you might have to stand there and watch them or they will do it out of habit. The paint only makes it look pretty but gums it up and reduces its efficiency. Walt ------------------------ Yahoo!
