Here's an idea I am hatching for a Mr. Fusion assembly that will cost me about $10. I thought about going for the Krups on Ebay but though better of it. My idea is to take a PVC pipe, 3-4 inches in diameter and about 18 inches long and wrap it in aluminum foil like a long piece of candy (twisting it at each end to make handles). I'd stick this in the oven at 250 degrees and soften the PVC. Once malleable, I'm going to press the whole thing lengthwise between two board to create the recognizable oval shape of the coffee grinder. The next step is to cut the PVC in half. Keep one half as Mr. Fusion and the other half to form the plexiglass. Taking the scrap piece, if I cut it along its length I will have 2 long concave sections that fit into one another. If I heat a small piece of plexiglass in the oven and then sandwich it between the two pieces, I should ba able to press the together and form a the exact curvature I need. The tricky part will be cutting the window out with a Roto-zip, but I am making a template of it in Illustrator so I can spray mount it to the PVC so I can get a perfectly symmetrical cut. For the logo I have recreated it in Illustrator. I wasn't sure about its absolute authenticity. Was it the "Home Energy Reactor" or "Home Energy Converter?" Was there a line under "Mr. Fusion?" Anyways, here a lo-rez version for viewing: <http://tg.vantagep.com/mrfusion_lorez.gif> And if you like it, a hi-rez version for printing <http://tg.vantagep.com/mrfusion_hirez.gif> If I need to change the logo, let me know. ------------------------ Yahoo!
