These are shot of of an actual average New Orleans type vehicle, taken on
Bourbon St. last February.

Louie:
Yep.
Back when I had a few gigs in that area somebody looked at my car and
apparently decided it was worth stealing.
My band was semi-regularly at Living Art coffeehouse right on the corner
of 36th and N Davidson, which has since become The Evening Muse (say hi
to Lea and Joe for me). Although there were shady characters walking
around in that area after dark, nothing happened until we played down
the street at The Neighborhood Theatre one winter's night: I walked out
of the stage door to find that some idiot tried to take the Duster by
breaking in the back window, opening the rest of the doors, and then
tearing apart the ignition. (I say idiot because they failed to steal
it. It hadn't even moved. They obviously couldn't start it.) If I had a
DeLorean I'd be more careful.
Then again neighborhoods have their ups and downs, and I hear that an
influx of cash and some not-so-public housing developments have helped
raise the profile and lower the crime rate of that area. I haven't been
there in a while, though. I guess I'll check it out the next time I'm in
town. All the same, I think the storage room is a good idea.

left... it's got more art galleries and weird restaurants than ever... they
just opened up the coolest Mellow Mushroom Pizza. It's this old house that
they've taken out the second floor, and made it so you can see up inside
it... all of the furniture is hung upside down from the ceilings... there
are entire rooms up there. It's really cool. Do you have any bad experiences
with NoDa or something?

think I just might make it into my daily driver. It really all depends on
how safe the area is going to be though. Everyone is always nice... just a
bunch of art people everywhere. -Louie
