Hehe - well you stirred up a hornet's nest, but I think everyone agrees
injector cleaner to be a bad idea. My car has sat for 5 months witht he
same fuel it came back from Donington with and she fired right up and
drove down to the workshop fine. I -know- my tank, boot, filters etc etc
are all fine.
My opinion on this whole "crud in the fuel tank" is that it's down to a)
so many cars get layed up for years at a time and b) american petrol
Has ANYONE had fuel contamination problems as a result of stagnant fuel
in this country? I'l bet nobody has... all the probklems I've ever seen
have been on imported non-runners that have sat for years.
I've also recently seen contamination problems that took ot the CPR and
affected the injectors/metering head in spite of an almost brand new
fuel filter, and a fresh tank of fuel. We now have 40 litres of yellow
petrol if anyone wants it....!

I am considering adding a little injector cleaner to a full tank of fuel so that the injectors get a bit of a clean out ready for the summer months. Has anyone else done this? Is it worthwhile? Or should I just go for a spirited drive instead to blast the cobwebs out?
