Everybody probably does this anyway, but if you pop off the wheel-centre cap
from the inside, you can see though the hole to line the studs up. That
improves things slightly, and you can snap the centre cap back in from the
outside when you're done.
Know what you mean with narrow access though - extracting battery at arms
length though the driver's door isn't easy either!
