I know how you feel, only I had nothing stolen but my car was damaged almost beyond economical repair about a year ago, not for parts but labour time.
 
There are some strange people around.

One of teh moast reassuring I've heard of was some family friends had 
concreted a ring into the garage floor and looped a maheesive chain through 
it and around something sturdy on the car. I realise one can be a bit more 
subtle than that, but at least cutting trough a fat chain makes a hell of a 
racket.

What times we live in. And as you say, no doubt, all as a result of the 
recent press coverage.
