Re: [doc] stereo/speaker wiring



I agree with Martin, there are only 6 speaker wires on 4 speakers due to the
earths being commoned up, front to rear on each side. If you are fitting a
high powered head unit, which most modern din stereos are, it will damage
the amplifier (or pre-amp) if the speaker earths remain commoned up. The
speaker wire is only good for about 10w per channel and OEM speakers are not
much better.

Run new speaker cable and replace those old tired speakers. For the small
cost, it will be a big improvement in sound.
