Erm. . . in 1981? Yes!!!!!!
 
It was the first production road car available in Britain that used Unleaded Fuel.
 
Admittedly it was designed for the yank market which is why it ran on Unleaded, but it was the first car to be available over here that ran on the stuff.

Yank Tanks have been using it since the 50s... a friend had a 7.7L V8 
Caddy that had "UNLEADED ONLY" stamped on the dashboard.. and that car 
was built in 1959.
