Re: [doc] DMUK brakes,/ springs

Is it not fair to say that brakes can only be as good as the tyres on the car? Edumacate me..... With my Pirelli rubber all round I cannot lock my DeLorean's tyres up except in the wet, and then only the front - a number of people have said how good the brakes are.

As you know, Dan, I've had experience of good brakes in Si's Skyline - I don't think he demonstrated it when you were there, but there are still teethmarks on his dash from my first ride in it :-))) He's running brakes from a standard R34 GTR, but given his car weighs not a lot more than half what a GTR weighs, they're pretty... er.... adequate!

I'd have to agree with Martin/Stephen... the DeLorean had good brakes for it's day - though 20 years later I suspect most are a little tired . For example - my Calibra has great brakes (relatively speaking) as they have to deal with a large amount of horsepower. However after driving a 911 (who argueably have the best in the business) I can honestly say that even those are rubbish. "-MY-" DeLorean has awful brakes in comparision... and I can lock all 4 wheels is that! I cannot in the Porsche... (it'll stop so violently you'll lose your lunch.. hehe)

Get em done...
