Frenchy update.

Dave was kind enough to deliver my new engine today, it is complete apart
from the "rotor arm" which had been borrowed.

I tell you what, a completed engine (alternator, wiring loom etc..) sat on
the floor, looks jolly large! The newspaper stuffed in the flywheel tells
the cars history "The Andover advertiser" Aug. 82. An engine rescued from
one of the famous, Wooler-Hodec , left over "Black cars" that were chopped
up and scrapped, when the RHD programme came to an abrupt halt after the
factory went bust (full details and photo's in the book).

It seems a shame to use it really, but Frenchy will be a top notch car when
this big new lump is fitted and working.

Backy disgraced herself today, when Dave and I went for a drive. I now
remember that when I filled Backy up with petrol, prior to driving to Gaydon
(for the first time in her life, as she has only done 275 miles then) I
remembered that the fuel gauge did not go higher than 1/2 way. Of course,
travelling another 200 miles used up most of this fuel. Today, still with
the fuel gauge showing 1/2 full, we merrily drove around until it suddenly
stopped! A can of unleaded soon sorted it out, but cleaning and freeing
the fuel gauge is now on my list of things to do. Most embarrassing, the
club secretary and treasurer walking away from a stopped time machine!

My sons friend Andrew has bought 2 DeLorean's to date in the USA and is
negotiating for a 3rd. So in a few months time, the UK stock will increase
by another 1%. They will all be for sale in due course, its Andrews living
now as he has jacked in his regular job at Toyota, good luck to him.

There will doubtless be some more work for "DeLorean Motors" arising from
this venture.

BTW Claire, the DeLorean clip in the 81 video thingy, is only 6 seconds, I
know because I recorded it tonight instead of the proper programme! I was
confused by my cable box not having channel 250!
