I see what you're saying. However if you think about it, the only place water can go is into the intake and collect beneath
the throttle butterflies. Changing that assembly and swapping the metering head over is probably a couple of hoursworth of
work - at the very least it's a place to start to see what state it's in. Just pull one off a Volvo 760 in a scrappy.

If you like I could put you on to Darren Bowker* for advice. He may well have seen engines left out in the rain as you
describe. He is building my new engine from scratch (the original block wasn't in the car) and could rebuild yours if you're
interested.
