Re: [doc] DeLorean Side Marker Lights

This is a bit of a grey area. Some MOT stations (including mine) will pass the car without side indicators. Others will not. If the car requires type approval for initial registration, they are required. Purely from a practical standpoint, I'd prefer to have mine blink too.

The easiest way of doing it is to earth the front marker on the +ve connection to the front indicator. When your headlights are off, the side marker will flash in time with the indicator. When the lights are on, they flash the opposite way to the indicator (ie when the indicator's on the side marker goes off). There's a video of Mark Bourne's old car at the Ally Pally which shows how they operate. It's on my website in the Downloads section

Cheers

Hello,

Do you have to retrofit the side marker lights to blink with the directional/turn signals in the UK?

I would like my DeLoreans' side marker light to "blink" when I use the turn signal, as I was almost sideswiped on the motorway.

Best Wishes, Michael
