I had the very
same problem with my Scimitar. It turned out to be something
called
the
Potentiometer.

Not sure if this
will help with the DeLorean prob, but as I say I had the same prob with
my
2.9EFI
engine.

Check the
injectors, they can block up. Pull all six out and place then in a
bottle
or tin, still connected to the fuel lines. Bypass the fuel pump relay
and
push down the airflow plate. They should all have a very fine spray. If
one
or more are dribbling this will cause the car to badly misfire
under
load.
