On a related subject - does anyone know if there were made technical drawings/plans for the test track, or was it just "built" there and then only with a few tips and hints on how they wanted it - without any drawings at all? I'd like to know the measurements, distance, curve degree etc. >

The notion of holding an annual event at the test track is as you say "just a wild idea". There are a dozen good reasons as to why this is not feasible...
Sorry, but as far as I am concerned you're just going to have to wait until 2006.
Of course there were technical drawings and plans for the test track! I have some of these plans in my collection, but there was an extensive feature in DeLorean World some years ago written by track designer Mike Loasby.
