WAS : Delorean electrics NOW : Update!

If this is the car I looked at in Alton then yes, he got a REALLY good deal on it! Nearly on par with yours Martin! ;o) Damn I wish I had the cash or I'd have had that.

Top car.. welcome to the club as a "participating" member! Now you can moan and bitch all you want! Heh. Figured out what those extra switches are for yet? Even the owner couldn't tell me... drove nicely though.

As an update, it looks as though I'm getting my Maddie back next week. Having spent the most part of the last week sorting various "things" out personally I'm really really thinking about selling it either as a cheap car (£4k all in) or part it out. Nothing other than panels needed and Chris N can source most of them for well under a £1k! (well he could!) Bit of elbow greece and she's road legal (albeit needing loads of cosmetics - like they all do at some point!). Not a lightly taken decision - but I'm also looking at emigrating with my company to Canada either late this year or early next so I won't finish her anyway! Of course, should a miracle happen I'll keep her (and I'm still working to finish while she's mine - she isn't being dumped). I'm going to update the site to reflect this soon too. So if anyone wants a really cheap fixer upper... of course you could all boycot me and I'll be "forced" to finish her! :oP

Oh and any comments about taking on too much and you'll receive a personal slap from me! You have been warned! (I'll even send you a virtual one!) <grin>

Best new year wishes all!

Dan

PS: Anyone want a '01 Y plate Puma while I'm at it? £11,000! (It ain't just the Delorean!)

Oh .. and when is the next show? Is it the NEC? I should be there.

James, Has been a member of the DOC for many years ( he paid his 2002 subs
today).

It gives me a real thrill to know that James's long time desire to own a
DeLorean is at last fulfilled.

It adds to my pleasure that I was instrumental in "pointing" James towards
this particular car that I first saw for sale "down south", while attending
a car rally on company business. James did a right good deal with the last
owner and has a very early gas flap, low mileage car. Vin 569 .

Thanks for your help with the electrical stuff Martin.

Chris P.

There's no fire hazard as such - everything's fused (although the fuses for
the headlights sometimes melt :-). If your cooling
fans fail (which they CAN), you risk overheating fairly obviously. Look to
the far left of the relay compartment - is there a
blue module in the bottom corner? THis is the fan fail module and prone to
failing. It should be removed and replaced with
jumper wires.
