Hi Simon

Just thought i'd let you know as i have just imported mine.

the %5 duty atr present does not apply.

i have been charged %10 + 17.5 vat as they have so many applications 
for DMC-12's that they now say not as rare etc.

i am currently going through the appeals process. (2 appeals).

Also the dvla state you are allowed to drive car without plates to 
and from a booked in MOT (distance not stated) and to a garage for 
repairs. car must be insured of course.

i have been stopped many times as i regularly import form Japan.

Therefore you can legally drive port to MOT then home, which is what 
i do.
