RE: [doc] Waxoyl and other rust prevention

Hi Rich,

I did the same thing on Smokey, the centre V of the engine has 2" - 3" deep pockets that were full of dirt and muck.... a long screwdriver and hover came in handy for getting it all out.... the filling them up with clear waxoil..

After the waxoil goes off (and the fumes clear!!) it goes like candle wax and the jobs done...

I use the Black waxoil on my Range Rover chassis and have found it to be the best stuff to use as it never goes hard and never peels off.. I love the stuff!!.

As for Smokeys chassis I have polished with metal polish and water just runs off, but the box section near engine/gearbox I did give it a going round...

You are more than welcome to come round for the 19th.......

All the best Alan and Smokey.....

I have also used it in it's 'liquid in a can' form to protect the
pockets in the centre of the 'v' in the engine block where crud and
water can accumulate. That worked very well indeed and has created a
nice waxy coating.

All my local motor shops stock Tiger Seal - perhaps it's a northern
thing :)
I am pondering the possibility of coming to Alan's East Anglian meet on
the 19 September so perhaps I can bring some down for any interested
folks?
