Re: [doc] interesting engine cutting out problem

Oh another thing it could be is that the earth return from the earth bus bar behind the dash to the -ve post on the battery could be a bit hit and miss. This could give you instrument readout problems and I believe this is the earth path for the fuel pump cut off switch that is located near the drivers feet (Left hand drive)

Nick.

I have an interesting set of problems.

After re-installing a new metering head earlier today (monday) my car
is running very nicely.

Anyway I have a couple of weird problems and they may be linked to
each other.

1) Firstly the rev counter seems to jump up about 1000 rpm when the
air con kicks in.

2) With the key in the ignition the volt meter seems to read very
very low, but the car starts fine and the meter goes up to 13v again.

3) Whilst driving the engine periodically stops dead, no spluttering
just dead like somone pulled the plug.

Could all of these problems be electronic and if so could they be
linked to a bad earth? I'm no electrical buff so any help welcome.

Thanks

James RG
