If you had it made in solid ally, you'll have problems with noise from
the pump being transmitted into the tank and the chassis.

Over here, we've found that the boots survive pretty well as long as
fuel is not left to go stagnant in the tank - and we don't get the
problems with those tar-like deposits by the same token
