I keep trying to think what a Sunbeam Rapier looks like but I don't think I've ever seen one so I'll have to wait until the pics get posted before I'll be enlightened. The only thing I can think of is a Sunbeam Tiger, but that's the V8 sportscar like an MGB so presumably it's not that. It just happened so fast in front of me, I remember thinking "whats that smell, wheres all that smoke coming from...oh shit!" and swerving to avoid the carnage in front of me. I hope your friend is ok. It was certaintly a rather unexpected test of the 38 year old Sunbeam's steering and suspension! When I get Flopsy back, she will be evicting the Cavalier from the garage - I've got a 'garaging warranty' thing on my insurance, whereas the Cav and the Sunbeam are both insured on the driveway. I brought the Sunbeam into work today, as she was on the driveway and the Cavalier is in the garage loaded to the gills with all the spares that came with the Sunbeam. One thing we noticed yesterday, when Sorbet and the Sunbeam were parked together, is how much longer she is then the DeLorean. I hadnt appreciated quite how big she is until then. Shame you couldnt make it yesterday, it was a lovely afternoon - and several people at the show were asking if you were coming as they knew of your car. Your famous now! :o) I'll try and post up a couple of pics from yesterday later on when I get home from work.
