How does the marking relate to the locking prong bit on the back though? 
The sprockets are identcial in terms of number of teeth, size etc.

Not saying you're wrong, just that I know -why- they're different (that 
15 degree offset) but don't know how many teeth there are - if there're 
24, then you could just use it putting the chain one tooth out
