[doc] Interior lights no-op, anyone had this

My interior lights don't operate when the doors are opened (door 
markers fine, so switches work), if you put the switch into 'on' 
position they work fine, in the 'come on when doors opened' position 
they don't. Looking at the circuit they are switched via a diode (blue 
coded) located just at the back of the console - (Rich H has pointed em 
out to me) - has anyone had problems with the diode failing before I 
start taking things apart? or has anyone had something else causing 
this? 
OK, I've just about sorted everything now and I'm nit-picking :-))
