Re: [doc] Engine Number

It's luck of the draw with Renault parts dept. It depends if they have
someone who really knows there stuff. Smiths Renault in peterborough
were good to me but someparts were not available from France.
You will pay more from Volvo (e.g.pulley nut £2 Renault but
unavailable, £5 from Volvo)

I got all my chains and gasket from http://www.classicvolvoparts.co.uk/
Brobrookhouse volvo parts.

Martin is correct that they do not have the marks, A paint pen
and some care can soon sort that.

(I would keep the old chains that you take off in a safe place should
you ever need to replace them again. You then have a orignal copy of the
marks)

P.S. The worst bit of this job is getting the pulley nut off.
Save a lot of grief and buy a flywheel holding tool from
www.Laserhandtools.com, part number 3203 for use on citroen, fiat,
ldv, peugeot diesel engines. I got mine from Wilco.
It is a perfect fit for the PRV.

Take the starter motor out (3 bolts if I remember right) and then
use the lower bolt hole and a nut & bolt to retain holding tool
in contact with the flywheel.
Then heat that nut with a good blow torch till its nice and hot and
get a long breaker bar and a good socket on it.
Replace the oil seal in the chain cover when you put it all back
together.
