DMCH sell 'new built' turnkey cars at $35k and 'second hand' cars for
somewhere in the region of $25k.  The latter are great value and often have
desirable upgrades.  There is, generally some reasonable flexibility on the
price, within reason.  However, to that price you need to add shipping
(c.$1k) plus VAT and import duty (27% of the purchase cost)plus bits and
bobs for port costs, making the necessary amendments for driving in the Uk
and so on.  Budget about another £500 or so. So $32,000 dollars (the to port
price) equals about £17,000.  Total bill about £17,500.

You will, however get a top notch car at that price which should need
nothing done.

But if you speak with Chris P or Martin G with that sort of budget, I'd be
surprised if they can't direct you into a virtual show-winner for that sort
of dosh.  A previously registered UK car saves a lot of hassle but less
thrills of importing.
