LK was used on the s/s sun star as well.  I am told it was a mistake...a
bit the Mitsubishi "Starion" ! A like pronunciation problem! 
 
JZ spelled his name without a gap.at least he did on his printed sticker
he put on a parcel he sent to me. It was all in lower case as well. But
on most of the car literature it has a space.

The LK is the model of the Gold Deloreans that were made. I uploaded a 
photo called "Gold Delorean LK" to the photos area.
