I have been searching for somewhere where I could get the side mirror
glass cut so that it included the blind-spot function. After a search
only Halfords or AutoParts provide the service, both ultimately via a
company called Summit.
I have bought a standard DeLorean mirror as a template (DMCH) to
ensure that the shape is correct.
Summit will only accept cardboard templates, which they will then use
to cut the glass by hand.
There are no discounts for bulk orders (bah!!!) so anyone can order
direct from your local store (but you need to provide your own
template).
The cost is £20 per side and you have the option of standard,
titanium coated (anti-glare blue tint), OR anti-blindspot.
£40 the pair seems excessive, but factor is two DMCH originals @ $25
and add-on blind-spots and I suppose its not too bad (he says trying
to convince hiimself).
See them at Summit-Auto.co.uk the website isn't fantastic for
appraising mirrors, so a trip to Halfords might be better!!!
I will be ordering mine on Monday (lead time upto 28days) so if
anyone still wants one, and doesn't want the hassle of template
creation themselves drop me a line offlist to confirm. I'll keep them
until the next meet or we can discuss postage.
Remember to specify LHS/RHS : Standard/Anti-Glare/Anti-blindspot.
