Personally John I like the panoramic one's that normally clip on top.

I have used tree different methods of attachment.

1) just use the standard clip, but you do have too keep an eye on its
alignments, and look out for low bushes, then tend to knock it off.
2) Use the same mirror, but fit via a very small hole drilled down through
the plastic mirror body and screwed up from underneath, my favoured method,
as it much firmer and I've never lost one of these.
3) The same mirror gently eased off the black plastic backing and stuck on
the mirror face with blutack. (this was the only method that ensured it
stated in place on my 150 MPH Supercharged Jag XRJ!

There is one on every car in my family's fleet. We would be lost without
them.

They cost about 3GBP from Halfords.

Just my personal opinion...if you look through your pictures you will one on
Delores as she drives around the Lotus test track during the Cars the Star
filming. On the front cover of issue 25 and page 6 Delores sports one.
Then on the front cover of 24 mag, old "Backy", mow PMT, driving to Super
Car Sunday. See one on Backy at the NEC and on page 16 off issue 27, one
is even one on my Jeep !

Question 1 of 3, separate posts so I can keep the answers straight!

My car originally had two long thin stick-on mirrors. The ones sold
by Halfords are much 'taller' obscuring too much of the existing
mirror.

Does anyone know of an alternate source for such things.

I am not keen on the metal clip versions that attach on top of the
mirror surround.


Hope that makes some sort of sense.
