Re: [doc] Petrol Sender Unit

Hi Richard

I have repaired a few of these old tank sender units. Most of the time it is
the earth coil spring that attaches to the float that breaks. I have cleaned
them out and re soldered to spring back on.

With regard to risk of creating a spark it is unlikely and petrol itself is
not flammable, only the vapors it gives off is.

In theory though I've never tried it, a naked flame will go out if immerse
in petrol quick enough but I wouldn't advise anyone to try it either.

Mark
