OK, as you say, there loss. If you are free tomorrow I would like to 
take you up on your offer to look at your wiring. I'm technically 
still on call this weekend so I'll call you Sunday, after a suitable 
lie in of course!

For all of you still following the ins and outs of my electrical 
problems I would now say that the 'wiper control board' on the 
electrical diagram may be at the route of several weird DMC problems.
The board *seems* to act as the ground for the obviously connected 
indicators, wipers and seatbelt/door warning buzzer. Not so obviousis 
the fact that wobbling this board also causes the gauges to move and 
the air con and fans to cut out. I am not sure why this should be, 
but with the board suspended all my gauges ZERO CORRECTLY. The 
revcounter, and temp gauge all go to zero and stay there.

More info when I get chance to compare to Ian's unmodified car!
