If it is Gavin's car, it not only wasn't painted to cover dents, it had 
a replacement, undented door that was painted to match it following an 
incident!

I was /very/ interested in the car when it first came available; it 
struck me as being an excellent Delorean, and Gavin seemed to have been 
a careful owner.
