RE: [doc] #2727 now road worthy

Rich,

If you check that site again you'll see that all that kit was ex-backrupt and is now all sold...

However, I've seen these advertised in PC PRO etc.

The system I'm looking at is at www.6thplanet.com.
It has 5.25 inch bay in computer then docking station hidden in car (not DIN
stereo), LCD remote control display will probably be mounted by velcro or
something to dash.

Sound output there are two options.

The unit comes with an FM modulator so you can basically broadcast your
MP3's then pick them up on the original radio. Not strictly legal but that
doesn't seem to worry anyone.

Option 2 for more fiddlesome but (probably) better sound. Wire output from
mp3 unit to amplifier then to original speakers with a switch somewhere to
select between sound from mp3 and sound from radio. maybe put radio through
amplifier as well, depending on amp's capabilities.

I splashed out a whole £5 for an amp at a car boot sale yesterday in
readiness for this project!

Rich

Right you are. I didn't listen too carefully as I was in a "MUST BE SORTEDB
Y SUNDAY!" kinda frame of mind... and now it's done I don't really care!B
ut all the better that you found that out.. Martin, you wanna stick that on

the site along with the import bits? Say a page with "Importing around
£xxxx, MOT £37(is), Reg from £xx to £xx.." to sum up what people THINK they
will pay and us three HAVE paid!

Rich is that MP3 thingy the one I have seen in PC mags? The unit that willf
it in a 5.25 inch bay and a standard DIN? or are you talking about
something else? If so... where? I want to keep the original Craig but wouldl
ike something that will play what I want rather that a crappy radio or oldt
apes?

Cheers,

Dan
