Can I suggest somewhere north of London, because I too am heading North that evening - York as it happenns. If we could meet up somewhere along the way that'd be great. Chris - how about mentioning it to the hoopers' because they are just off the A1 north of South Mimms ( the A1/M25 Junction)

Going to Liverpool, Steve and James could take one of two routes, but will probably end up doing M25/M40/M42/M6/M56/M60
