I agree, always try an offer?but be sure you have the money available
first. Always take a good cash deposit and sign up a binding contract on
the spot.
On the subject of using borrowed money to buy cars, I?m not in favour of
it, especially ?boys toys?. I only ever borrowed money for one car; a
1960 Min-Van, when I was 17 years old. I borrowed £90. a laughable
amount now, but not when I was only earning £10 a week.
I was fed up with the car long before the 2 years payback period was up
and I vowed never again.
And if you are all thinking ?well its all right for him with his fat
back pocket??..I was not?..I was 30 years old before I started working
for my self and had a few more funds. So from age 17-30, I saved up for
my cars and appreciated them more when I paid for them with my hard
earned cash?.not easy to save when you have a non-working wife, mortgage
and 3 young children.
Apart from my mortgage, I?ve never borrowed a penny since and never paid
any bank or credit card charges; just my way of working.

If he is selling it for someone else, and I assume you mean on their
behalf,
why does this rule the car out?
Dealers are often working off values in their little books and I think
the
DeLorean's trade value is quite low compared to other sources. For the
money being asked and if this car is a good to excellent condition then
go
for it.
If the chassis is good, it runs well and the interior is in good shape
offer
to pay his seller £10k in cash and you can then kindly take if off their
hands for them...
