hello

this is my first post to the newsgroup. i?m a doc
non-owning member (since ?03) living in edinburgh and
was emailing for a few reasons. first, I wanted to say
thanks for running such a fantastic club. I hope to
get to one of the shows or meetings next year. i was
also hoping to get in touch with a few nuts up here
(any owners?). i know there?s a ?d? up in aberdeen
somewhere but i?ve never got in contact. please feel
free to email if you live in scotland. to all the
owners down south, do you ever bring your cars up here
for the car shows?

also I recently finished the james srodes/ivan fallon
?rise and fall of a dream-maker? book written in ?83.
Just wondering if anyone else has read it and what you
thought about it? it?s a fascinating book but i?m not
exactly sure what, if anything, has come to light
since it was written. it seems a pretty fair judgement
on the whole thing. DeLorean accomplished something
huge but not sure i?d have trusted him with a bucket
of sand.

also I recently took a trip to north carolina and
visited a delorean near asheville. never seen/touched
one/sat in one before so it was quite a thrill. the
owner/seller (who I contacted through e-bay) had spent
quite a lot of money at dmc in texas restoring the car
and it looked amazing. he couldn?t have been more
accommodating considering I had no intention of buying
the car.

anyway, would love to hear thoughts on any or all of
the above. thanks,
