[doc] Re: Smokey: prepare for ignition!!!

Alan

Be very careful of 'high street key cutters'. Look at your door key,
the two sides are *NOT* symmetrical, I had no less than 4 Volvo key
blanks wrecked before I got a copy that even looked correct. In my
case, my local Timpson were understanding, but refused to attempt to
cut my `original' (expensive) DMC blanks.

The normal process is to match up the blank with the `shoulder' of
your original, turn it over then replicate the other side.
The `shoulders' on a DMC key are not level! Even now Boeing's keys
have to be inserted precisely for them to work. If you have reason to
remove the headlining take the opportunity to record the key number
and order a code-cut key from DMCH.

I have purchased Carcoon's permanently attached battery
management/charger unit. Now I can leave the car with electric
enabled without worrying, I am considering the LockZilla remote
control (already have LockZilla 1) or more likely DMCUK's `Remote
Wing'.

I am also interested in getting one small and one large key blank
(original DMC logo etc), can anyone get these and can they be cut by
a key cutter without any problems?. Smokey has the 2 key system by
the way!.
