Hi Mike,

your case may be different, but here is what I did to Smokey

Window is down and does not go up:

it was found to be a broken bracket that attached the motor to the door and had let the motor drop (some one had kept pressing the down button and and then the motor cable all came out) and the window was down but would not go up.

It`s a fiddle but I made a new bracket out of stainless (what else!!) and with the motor free from the door, feed the cable into the motor as someone pressed the window up button. you then have to wind the motor up to the bolt hole which hold it to the door (it`s a tight fit!!!), bolt it up and I had a working electric window again.
