[doc] Re: Picking up Car From Port?? BTI?? Payments?

When we picked up Flopsy, we had to go via WT Shipping's offices in
Mountnessing to pay the Customs fees and pick up the release papers so
that we could then get the car from Tilbury Docks.  I think it cost
about £475 what with de-vanning charges, VAT, etc, but it is based on
the purchase price of the car, how many cars were in the container
(de-vanning fees split amongst people using container), etc.  Your
best bet is to phone the handling agents in the UK (Wainwrights in
your case?) and ask for an idea of what you've got to pay, I took
cash, so at least they had cleared funds.  If they've got to wait for
a cheque to clear, it might delay picking the car up.
