The reason the DeLorean was not used in a James Bond film is probably because his cars tend to be fast, one thing the DeLorean needs help on being. It is designated as the B-28A. It uses a completely different intake manifold with no fuel injectors compared to the DeLorean B-28F. If a DeLorean owner decided to purchase this item they could look at a considerable investment in labor, time, and money to remove the factory set up. They also would take a big step backwards as far as relibialty and economy. Definitely NOT RECOMENDED. It was out in -10 ° F last winter at Navy Pier with no effects. It is alot easier to get rid of finger prints with the clear coat. I have heard of people clear coating their cars in the past, but have never seen one. The was one guy who advertised doing it if I remember correctly. This one will be on performance testing. Some interesting comparison I found in the literature show that the D, in 1981 did not do too bad from a performance view. Here's the data: quarter mile time speed 1981 DeLorean 17.6 seconds 79 mph. 1981 Pontiac V-8 turbo trans AM 17.02 seconds. 82.1 mph 1979 Mustang Cobra 18.4 seconds 77.1 mph. Of course, engine technology has significantly changed since this time, but for its day, the D was not all that bad. Needless to say, the Delorean can drive the required 90 miles per hour or more for a good car chase scene. Maybe Quentin, our friendly car critic was the vehicle advisor to the Bond films. That would explain a great deal. I know how you feel.  I had my deLorean parked a the far end of o= ur = parking lot at work and somebody managed to walk off with the entire front = grill = of my car (DMC  logo included).    I was able to get a = new = grill and logo from DMC houston.
