Go to the fuse box and battery. Unplug the positive post of the battery then pull one fuse at a time and touch the positive post to the battery and see if you get a spark. Keep pulling fuses one at a time until you don't get a spark. That will be where your drain is coming from. I do agree that the DeLorean would have been a nice car for 007, but if that had ever happened I think there had been no DeLorean featured in the first Back to the Future. Remember that Back to the Future was the first movie to feature a DeLorean as the main car. Speculations of course, but the important thing right now should be to work hard to get the new DeLorean, the D2, in the next James Bond movie. Drilling holes in the panel that seems to hold the fuel tank up presents itself as a solution (as that is where the water accumulates in my car) but I've never done it. To inspect this area remove the fuel tank access panel located under the spare tire in the luggage compartment. Me car wouldn't start last week (a silent fuel pump) until I started to dinker around with these two items. The button on the inertia switch would not stay up, so I knew something was amiss, but there where no signs of heat damage. By the way, it's an old switch (you know, the recalled ones with the brass connecters). When I jumped #30 and #87 at the RPM relay, I got the fuel pump to run. I took apart the relay and scraped a little crap away from between two cold solder points (it wasn't a lot, but hey, I'm reaching for straws). After putting everything back together (pluging the switch and relay back in and replacing the #7 fuse) the car started. Today, I broke one of the golden rules. Even though the car was working, I went out to fix it. I wanted to know what it was I did that got the car to start again. I started at the inertia switch. I moved the button up and down a few times and low and behold, it stayed up. I pushed it in and pulled it up and it still worked. So I pushed it in and started the car. Then I pulled the button up to see if it would shut down the car, and it did. Now the car won't start again. If I jump the switch and the relay, the fuel pump works. If I plug in the relay and turn the ignition on, the relay buzzes wildly. If I try to start the car, the wildly buzzing relay tells the starter to click and buzz too. Here's my thought. A bad inertia switch slowly took out the RPM relay causing stress on the #7 fuse (heating it up but not popping it). Can anyone confirm or dispute this? Is there any relation to a new electrical problem in which the door buzzer seems to carry on with a very weak sound, as if its not getting enough power to work its timer and shut itself off (ignition switch?). For those who read these posting and assume the car is troublesome, read this! I purchased a daily driven D (6225) in '96. It spent 6 months on jacks being restored with original D parts and/or upgrades (ie front end frame stiffeners, braided steel clutch line, throttle cable, horns, brakes, tires, sensors, swithes, etc.) Everything that just plain wears out after 15 years and 40,000 miles of service. The car has run perfect ever since! I've driven 9,000 miles and changed the oil 3 times... That's all the maintenence it required. I recently posted a message seeking help with an electrical problem. (first hick-up in 4 years) It turned out to be a simple update that I should have done years ago. With the help from groups like this, the mystery is solved, the parts are on their way, and I'm driving again. So you can't get parts at Pep-boys. But you can call an (800) number, talk to someone who knows the car inside and out, and have the parts show up at your front door in a couple of days. Which would you perfer? To introduce me: I`m 26, living in Germany, near Stuttgart. Two months ago, I bougt my baby, VIN 10284, grey, 5speed. Needs many repairs. My question: Does anyone have knowledge in repairing body parts (glass fiber reinforced plastic; is it called GRP?) The a-pillar is badly cracked and so is the bottom of the passengers side. Someone did some repairs before, but it does not look very well, so I want to redo it really good. My problem: glass fiber mats are easily available everywhere, but the two-compound-polyester "glue" which is intended for repairs on "normal" cars does not seem to stick very well on the black GRP (?) material. I tried it. - Does anyone know EXACTLY what sort of plastic was used for the body? - Does anyone know what kind of "glue" sticks best to that material? Funny: The VIN is 10284 but my frame has got the number 10281 written on. Last question for today: Does anyone know of a company called FRANK GATTO & ASSOCIATES in Miami, FL ? Squeaking can be caused by a lot of things - you might put on new brake pads that squeak even more. It all depends on the condition of the brake rotors and the compound of the new pads. The unit had been dinged on the lower left edge from curb contact or something similar. As I removed the UPPER refrigerant line from the unit, the female portion of the fitting unsrewed far too easily, only slightly better than hand tight. After removal, I discovered an oily area on the upper left front corner of the condenser where the fitting is. Upon testing the condenser unit out of the car, it was found to not have any leaks. The leakage had to have been from the upper fitting which may have never been properly tightened and after this many years, the O-ring dried out. You want you car (at least your first) to be something that you'll drive around & take pride in! They were all designed by Italdesign in Italy. Now if you don't know about these 2 other cars they both are extremely similar to each other, even to the Delorean itself! The Scirroco was designed in the early 70's and the Delorean and Impulse were designed in 81 "ALL OF THIS IS ACCORDING TO THE WEB SITE!"
