Since then, I have been discovering/uncovering very interesting 'fudges' with my car. Here's the list so far: 1. Air conditioner Low Pressure Cut-Out Switch was bypassed. I removed the bypass, recharged the freon, and it works fine. I can't really understand why someone would bypass the pressure switch unless the system had a leak or the compressor was shot. The compressor now cycles properly, the air is very cold and has been for the past 3 months. No leaks either. I inserted a special dye into the R12 and looked for leaks. Nothing. 2. Brake fluid resevoir float sender plug removed and tied up. I cleaned them off, reattached them, no problems. Why would someone purposefully detach the float sender wire and tie it up nicely with a tie-wrap? Again, it makes me think that something was broken... but, brakes are 100% and the brake light isn't on. 3. Cooling fan. One of the cooling fans was unplugged and the plug tied up nicely. It was the driver's side cooling fan. Is this somehow related to the air conditioner? Can you think of a worse condition: AC Low Pressure Cut-Out Switch bypassed, compressor on full time, A/C cooling fan unplugged. I plugged it back in and it came on properly. 4. Low note on the horn unplugged. Plugged it back in, works fine. Now, either I'm paranoid that every plug is faulty on my car and about to unhook itself magically tie-wrapping itself somewhere closeby, or the last guy who owned my Delorean had a bad mechanic or had a fetish for unplugging stuff. Can anyone come up with a reasonable hypothesis as to why any/all of these items would be unplugged or bypassed in the ways which they were? If I find anything else, I'll be sure to post. It is about the best and one of the most expensive one there is on the retail market. There are cheaper price fuel injectors cleaners at half the cost and many of them don't do squat. I have used all the brands that I can find. I used them at least twice, if not three times, just to get an experience of the product. The other fuel injector that is decent is the Redline brand. It is available at most speed shops. It is on the expensive side too. Some fuel injector cleaners have water remover (alcohol) ingredient added to it. This will remove the water or moisture in the fuel tank and system which will give the feeling that your fuel injectors and the system have been cleaned. This may give you the wrong impression between water moisture removed and clean injectors that are properly working. Know the difference! I would suggest that the tank should always be topped up to prevent water condensation. Condensation will form in the tank when low on gas. This water when it comes in contact with metal parts in fuel system created corrosion, rust and sludge when settled upon the components. Use a fuel injector cleaner ever 1,000 to 1,500 miles of driving to help prevent the build up. I do, and it makes a difference when I don't. No shares or ownership with these products or companies. Just experiences and routine maintenance. First, why do you need them? Are they actually missing? Rusted? Is just the captive nut missing? The captive nuts in the bracket generally come loose when you remove the rock screen. When the supply was exhausted, we had some made up, and it took years for them to sell. Now, when we come across a rusted one, we clean it up, treat it with a rust inhibitor and use it again. If it's just missing the captive nut, we replace it with a clip-on captive nut. (Heavyweight clutches become expensive when freighted to England). I have also seen that the labour to get this installed is approx 7-10 hours !! (Is this true ??). Regards John G. What made you decide to have your fascia refurbished? What was wrong with it? Was the paint flaking, was the thing warped or what? My front fascia has both of these problems. Can it be fixed or do I need to replace it? Also, do you (or anyone) know what kind of finish the rims have and why mine are flaking? Is there a way to get them refinished? He may still have them. You can try Custom Fiberglass & Plastic @ 203-776-1341 ask for Hank. He may have them too? He is in New Haven, CT. He also have rear and side skirts. Just one fair warning. These spoilers are made out of fiberglass. One tap or hit, they CRACK! Expensive proposition for this front spoilers. The nose is ALWAYS are hitting or bottoming out. Many owners had them remove because of this situation. If you want something a little more "pliable" try the J.C. Whitney catalog. They have front spoiler made of rubber so they can take the abuse and punishment. They cost about $60.00 plus shipping cost. They are a pain to put on the original airdam of the DeLorean. The spoiler also make the front of the DeLorean look "heavier." If you want a photo of my car with this spolier, let me know I can send you an e-mail picture of my DeLorean's front with this spoiler mounted. Many items that appear to be crossovers are not. Example: An owner requested we service his DeLorean to correct a "no hot start condition" we discovered that the fuel pump he purchased from a local parts store did not have a check valve which is required in the DeLorean. As an electrical part he could not return the pump to the parts store; $145 down the drain. 2. DeLorean owners are extremely fortunate to have one of the best parts networks of any limited production vehicle. Our philosophy is: purchase all of your parts from DeLorean part suppliers. Sure, in some cases you may pay a few bucks more, but you will be helping to keep the parts network alive. At the same time you will be sure of getting the exact replacement part with service support included. Yes; buy your oil filters and light bulbs from Pep Boys and Auto Zone, but that's it ! I also found this same device while I was under the car. One of the wires was disconnected, so I reconnected it. After I had reconnected the wire, the reverse lights started to magically work.
