It sounds promasing, but White smoke can be one of
two things. Number 1 it can be oil as if it was flooded with gas would be
black smoke oil would be white. Number 2 was it steem water vapor?
Something is definaley going on let us know further..

Well
I made some progress this weekend, I just not sure how I did it. I was
checking for spark in the morning with one of those induction light pens. It
showed spark from the coil but no spark to the plugs. I had disconnected a few
wires to the distributor when I was working on the clutch slave and was not
looking forward to removing the fuel distribution again to check the plug
wires. I loosen the fuel distribution and got my hand on the distributor but
really could grab the wires. I had to leave so I tighten things up and left
it.
Later in the day my trusty assistant (daughter) and I went to test
the plug wires again just to be sure there was no spark. I unplugged the CSV
to cut down on the fuel being pumped into the engine. She turned the ignition
and low and behold it started. A bunch of white smoke came out of the tail
pipes or a few minutes but it ran. It ran a little rough and the idle was
surging but it didn't die.
I am thinking the fuel distribution unit
might have loosened the plug on the distributor from the coil and and I fixed
it when I loosened and re-tighten everything. Any one else have a theory? What
would cause the white smoke?

Steve,
You don’t need to crank the engine to get the frequency valve to start
buzzing. It is switched on by the same relay than the fuel pump. So, wherever
the pump is running the FV has to run. Switch the key on and the pump should
prime the system for about a second or so. If it doesn’t you can switch the
key off and back on quickly. Listen for the fuel pump hum from the front and a
loud buzz from the FV in the back.
If the FV does not run it will cause a very lean condition and the engine
might not start.
Good luck!

I
checked the electrical connections in the area I was working. It is hard to
tell if the frequency valve is buzzing while the engine is cranking. Can a
problem with the valve cause a no start? The hose to the valve broke just at
the hose barb so I was able to shorten it and pushed it back on, not easy to
do. I'll check for spark this weekend.
And yes I
am pretty sure I put the hoses back correctly, it did start which is when I
found the WOR hose leaking. But I'll check again.

Did any of the wires around the coil get loosened? The ballast, etc.? The
frequency valve is buzzing? I would check the wiring carefully in case you
loosened one. Any chance the fuel hoses were not reinstalled in the correct
location? How did you get the frequency valve hose back on? Any chance you
plugged the valve?
