[DML] UNKOWN PART

While I had the fuel distributor off, I decided to look into the backside of the "valley of death" with my trusty mirror.  Lo and Behold, I saw this item and was able to retrieve it.  It measures just over 1/2 inch long and the hex head part fits an 11mm socket.  It appears to be made of solid brass or possibly bronze.  For those who can't see the pictures, from the hex head, it narrows down in a cone shape and has a flat point that is 1/8 inch across.  I went through the entire parts manual and could find nothing similar.
 
Any one got any idea what this is????
