When you removed the pan, did you check and make sure the mating surface is flat? I have a manual, but past experiences with other automatics have had the sheet metal pan warp around the holes from past over tightening. Do the bolts go into blind holes or do the bolt holes go through? You may need to put a little sealer on the threads. Check the dip stick seal too. I was told the Otterstat seal fits well here.

I was planning on using regular blue RTV this time around on both sides of the gasket before installing. Would this be a good approach? Anyone have a similar experience and approached it from a different path? Anyone with a different recommendation because they had to drop the pan at a future date and found a better solution?
