When I bought my car there was a little one-page sheet in the car, one of those things you stick out at car shows, listing how many previous owners, a little history of the make, and so on. One of the things it lists is that the car was shipped via 747 to the US. I assumed that was crap, but saw in my 'De Lorean - Stainless Steel Illusion' that some cars (it suggests primarily the first ones) were, in fact, transported by 747 to the US. Given I have chassis# 4157 I'm imagining it's unlikely it was transported this way, but I was curious if whoever wrote the card was potentially right or not. PS - I bought my copy of 'Stainless Steel Illusion' from Amazon and was shocked to discover it was signed by Bill Collins! Of course, it was signed _to_ some guy called Wayne, but, hey, I can pretend. PPS - I had the local alternator guy remove the stud in my Ducellier and replace it. He also went over it, cleaned it up, resoldered the diode packs and did a general service. Cost me $60. Not quite as cheap as I would've hoped, but less than any replacement. - JP ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
