It looks like a very nice solution to a small problem. Did you check it for compatibility with different types of alternators? I do not think it will work with the Ducy. This is one problem when you make parts, you must consider all of the possible combinations and permutations that you will encounter in the field. As for what is used on modern vehicles, most now use a serpentine belt with a spring-loaded tensioner. Another problem is that it is too easy to overtension the belt with it and you will quickly damage the water pump bearings. If this does get popular you should include instructions with a warning not to overtighten the belt.
