I'm in the process of rtestoring my 5th frame now. I get the epoxy professionally stripped either chemically (preferred) or in an oven (okay but leaves ash inside the enclosed sections). Then any welding is done and the frame galvanised and powder coated. Galvanising sees the flat sections get a little warped but the important dimensions of the frame remains good. Ed Uding has been galvanising frames for ages and AFAIK has never had a problem with warping. Martin On 28/06/2013 04:25, deloreanernst@xxxxxxx wrote: > I'm moving toward redoing my frame. It might be easier to swap it out, if mine proves to be too rusty, after I get to see it naked. A new one is not in the budget. Any thoughts, anyone? Powdercoating? Cost? Whatever. Mine is for the manual tranny. > > > -Wayne > 11174 > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
